The Real Reason You’re Not Consistent
Let’s talk about consistency.
Because most people think consistency is about discipline.
But if discipline was the answer, you’d already have it handled.
You’re not new to hard work.
You’ve built things. You’ve pushed through. You’ve done the impossible before.
So why is it that the things that matter most to you are the things that slip?
Here’s the uncomfortable truth:
Inconsistency is often a protection strategy.
Not laziness. Protection.
Because doing the thing consistently means you have to face something:
the fear of failing publicly
the fear of being judged
the fear of not being “good enough”
the fear of committing and then having to become someone new
the fear of succeeding and having your life change
So you stay busy. You stay productive. You stay admired.
But you do not move the one thing you truly want forward.
Breakthrough Idea of the Week
Your nervous system follows your system.
If your system is chaotic, your nervous system becomes reactive.
If your system is clear, your nervous system softens.
Consistency is not just “do it daily. Consistency is “make it safe enough to repeat.”
Pause & Reflect
What do you think your inconsistency is protecting you from?
If it felt safer, what would you finally do consistently?
Coaching Tool of the Week
Make it safe to repeat (7 minutes) Pick one habit you keep dropping.
Then answer:
The smallest version: what is the minimum that still counts?
The safety cue: what makes it feel safe to start? (music, location, time, ritual)
The return rule: “I never skip twice.”
That’s the system. Not perfect. Repeatable.
